In addition to bringing Pesto Palmiers to the Superbowl party, I brought a nacho dip that is tried, tested and true. I couldn't remember the exact ratio of ingredients, so I followed this recipe here (although I added more than the required taco seasoning and also included plum tomatoes).
Likely, many of you will have seen some version of the dip before. If you haven't, try it - it's always a hit.
INGREDIENTS
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons taco seasoning mix
2 plum tomatoes, diced
3/4 cup salsa
3/4 cup shredded lettuce
3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (I used marble cheese)
Directions
Combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream and taco seasoning (I always mix in a bowl first and then add it to a small casserole dish) on a large plate or in a pie plate.
Spread the salsa on top of the cream cheese-sour cream mixture.
Top with tomatoes (although next time I may put the tomatoes on top, so they're easier to grab)
Top with lettuce
and cheddar cheese (don't melt)
Serve with nachos (I used Tostitoes)
